ART BREAK #9 — Brooklyn Artist Davien Griffin Captures an Imaginative Angle of NYC

April 17, 2025

For our first Art Break of 2025, we present skilled Brooklyn artist Davien Griffin, aka DavienTheArtist. Born in New York and raised in St. Kitts and Nevis, Davien is a self-taught multi-disciplinary visual artist whose identity shines through in this captivating piece that combines city and island vibes. If you’re in Brooklyn, you can see for yourself with a free copy of the latest Park Slope Reader, available at these locations.

Davien’s interest in the arts developed at an early age and since then he has specialized in acrylic painting, portraiture, digital illustrations and pencil drawing. With a body of work characterized by a semi-realistic and surrealist style, his art vividly captures the dream-like essence of human emotions and unique life experiences, inviting viewers to delve into a world where reality and imagination intertwine.
